Why DNS Speed Matters

Every time a user visits your website, their browser must resolve your domain name to an IP address. A slow DNS resolver adds latency to the initial connection, which delays your site's load time.

How this test works

Our server queries multiple public DNS resolver endpoints (such as Cloudflare, Google, OpenDNS, Quad9, AdGuard, and NextDNS) in parallel to retrieve the A records for the specified domain. We measure the round-trip query time for each resolver.

What the metrics mean

Fastest Resolver: The DNS resolver that returned the IP address in the shortest amount of time.
Average Latency: The mean response time across all successful DNS responses.
Resolution Consistency: Helps identify if different providers resolve your domain name to different IP addresses (e.g., Geo-DNS routing).
